Chris first became interested in music at age seven, tagging along to his dad’s organ lessons and learning to play the pieces by ear. Less than a decade later, he would be honored for his early accomplishments: the Twin Cities Jazz Society cited him as an up-and-coming artist, and the National Association of Jazz Educators recognized him for exemplary achievements in jazz performance

Chris has been a resident performer here playing solo piano a with his trio.

Black Dog

Chris plays here with the Illicit Sextet, Chris Lomheim Trio & Quartet. Steve Kenny has curated over 200 “Saturday Night Jazz at the Black Dog Series.

Jazz Central

A jazz venue operated by jazz musicians. Chris plays here regularly with his quintet and various other groups.

Crooners

Voted Best Jazz Club in the City Pages “Best of the Twin Cities 2018” Chris performs in The Dunsmore Room and Crooner Lounge accompanying vocalists, as a sideman, as well as with his trio.

The Lexington

Chris performs at The Lexington in the Williamsburg Room with some of the best musicians in the Twin Cities.

The Dakota Jazz Club

Chris has performed at the legendary Dakota Jazz Club with his trio, accompanying national and various local artists for over 25 years.
